Judgment Regarding Permission of Section Officers Promotion Exams was issued on 20 & 21 November 2014. The summary of the same is as under:
This judgment issued in favor of different employees of FBR regional offices for permission of section officers promotion exams. FPSC issued a letter for their ineligibility of SOPE exam as self explanatory, whereas rules regulation amendment is the authority/mandate of establishment division not FPSC, FPSC have mandate of only recruitment and conduct of examinations, FBR employees challenge it in Lahore high court and Lahore high court issued a favorable judgment of FBR employees, FPSC lounge a CPLA against it in supreme court but supreme court dismissed FPSC appeal and allow them for SOPE exams, according to rules of business framing of recruitment rules and amendment thereto is the right of establishment division not FPSC, according to FPSC ordinance commission is competent in exams conducting and qualifications related matter only.
