Women Development Department, Punjab determines to provide equal rights to rural women and observed 15 October 2022 as Rural Women’s Day. The department also wants to make them independent. In this concern, the department of Women Development Punjab has passed some acts.

Share in inheritance
The department makes sure that every woman gets her share in the inheritance. If anyone tries to equip her right to property, he will be punished for his act. He will be held accountable in the light of 498-A PPC. He will be fined 10 Lac rupees and he will also be prisoned for 10 years.
End of home torture
The person who tortures the woman can be prisoned for 2 to 3 months. He can also be fined PKR 50 Thousand to 5 Lac.
Child Marriage
The persons involved in conducting the marriage of a girl at young age shall be fined PKR 50 thousand and also be prisoned for up to 6 months.
Fulfilling of Nikkah Nama
All the columns of Nikkah Nama should be fulfilled with the agreement of the bride. In another case, the person who violates the rule will be prisoned for 1 month and fined up to 25 thousand.
Facilities for women in service:
For the facility of in-service women, the department has developed 16 Working Women Hostals and 307 A Care centers.
FREE CALL SERVICE
The government has also provided a free call service number for women. Women can call 1043 to seek guidance in case of violation of their rights and torture.
