Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Information and Public Relations Department issued a Notification on 04-04-2023 in connection with Stoppage of Pay and Other Expenditures Social Medial Influences KPK. All these SMI were working under ADP Scheme No. 966/210545. The details are as under:
Stoppage of Pay and Other Expenditures Social Medial Influences KPK
The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa suspends all the activities under ADP scheme no. 966/210545. The information and Public Relations Department notifies the Finance Department of the stoppage of Pay and stipends etc. The KPK government orders for stoppage of salary for such influencers with immediate effect.
KPK Interim Government Closes ADP Scheme No. 966/210545
KPK government hired 1109 Social Media Influencers under a Project. The project is titled “Establishment of Social Media Participatory Platforms for Public Awareness & Feedback Regarding Reforms Initiatives and Encouraging Civic Responsibility”. The Planning Officer, Information and Public Relations Department write to Finance Department to inform them about the decision of the competent authority. Here is the context of the letter by the Planning Officer:
- “I direct to refer to the subject cited above and to state that Information & Public Relations Department has appointed 1109 Social Media Influencers under the ADP scheme No. 966/210545 titled “Establishment of Social Media Participatory Platforms for Public Awareness & Feedback Regarding Reforms Initiatives and Encouraging Civic Responsibility”.
- After the dissolution of the Provincial Assembly and the setup of an interim Government in the province, whose constitutional responsibility is to hold free, fair, and impartial elections the subject project has lost its relevance. Secondly, the Election Commission has also banned new projects and Recruitment, etc. Therefore, the interim Government is not mandated by law, rules, and regulations to carry out the above-cited project objectives and thus the continuation of this project is a waste of resources of the public exchequer.
- As all the activities of the project are closed. Therefore, requests that all the expenditures including salaries of PMU, and a stipend of internee they should stop with immediate effect in the best public interest, “
According to the letter, the government of KPK suspends the above-sited project. Hence, The KPK government also suspends salaries and stipends for PMU and Internees.
Reason for closing ADP Project by the Government of KPK
According to the government, the interim Government of KPK is not mandated by law, rules, and regulations. So, the government cannot carry out project activities. The project loses its relevance. Moreover, the Election Commission imposes banned on new projects and recruitment. Therefore, the KPK government decides to close the project with immediate effect.
