Procedure for Processing Claims under the Revised Assistance Package for the Families of Government Employees who Die in Service Period from 15-06-2013 to 09-02-2015

Pakistan Railways Headquarter Office Lahore issued a Notification on 11-05-2023 in connection with the Procedure for Processing Claims under the PM Revised Assistance Package for the Families of Government Employees who Die in Service Period from 15-06-2013 to 09-02-2015.

The Establishment Division vide O.M 8/13/2016-E-2 dated 11 June 2018 has clarified the Claims arising during the period between 15-06-2014 in the field have to be processed in accordance with the law and rights created under this package.

               Under this package, pay and allowances are to be paid to the families of Government employees who died during the service up to the age of superannuation. However, in most cases, most of the widows started to receive pensions and commutation before the notice of implementation of policy  2014 dated 11.06.2018.

 

Procedure to Deal with Prime Minister Assistance Package Between 15th June 2013 to 9th Feb 2015

 

The competent authority has decided that the following procedure may be adopted to deal with all the above cases:

 

  1. The pay of the Government Employees who expired between the periods 15-06-2013 will be processed by the concerned executive office on the submission of required documents from the families. The pay shall be continuing till his age if superannuation had to he been alive.
  2. Concerned pension sections will be informed as soon as payment will be started to stop pension and calculate the total amount of pension/commutation to the deceased’s family which is recoverable.
  3. Recovery of pension plus commutation will be made through challan in the bank.
  4. If Recovery is not possible in a lump sum it may be adjusted in payment or arrears of pay and allowance.
  5. Each office should maintain a separate register containing a list of all causes of the PM Package.
  6. All pay changes will be intimated to the concerned accounts office up to the age of superannuation.
  7. A CPO office will create a separate cost center for these claims of the PM Package.
  8. All other benefits as per the Assistance Package will be paid to the families of the deceased government servant by the concerned offices.

 

This issue with the approval of the CEO/Sr. General Manager and Concurrence of FA &CAO.
