What are the contents of the Press Release?
The contents of the press release that held the Pension reforms Notifications are as under:
” On the directions of the Chairman PPPP, Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and in the wake of the demand of the various employees’ forums laid by Sindh Employees Alliance (SEA), the Provincial Cabinet approved that the operation of following Finance Department’s Notifications regarding pension reforms be held in abeyance with effect from the dates these Notifications were issued as shown against each:
- FD(SR-III) 3-230/2013-2022 dated 31st July 2025
- FD(SR-III)3-2962/2025 dated 6th August, 2025
- FD(SR-III)3-2962/2025 dated 18th August, 2025
The Cabinet further directed the Chief Secretary of Sindh to constitute a committee of officers from relevant departments and representatives of the Sindh Employees Alliance (SEA), which may evaluate the request of the government employees. The Secretary of Finance will submit a proposal to the cabinet, accordingly.
Regarding the Benevolent fund, the Cabinet agreed in principle to restructure the payment mechanism of the Benevolent fund, bringing it in line with the GP fund payment at the time of retirement. A proposal in this regard will be presented before the next cabinet meeting by Secretary GA, along with financial implications.
The Cabinet further directed the Secretary of Finance to consider the request of the employees regarding Group Insurance and suggest a way forward, along with financial implications, in the next meeting.”
