Punjab Govt has already issued the notification No. FD.SR.II.9-107/2012 dated 30th October 2012 in connection with Paternity Leave as well as Maternity Leave for the Provincial Govt Employees.

The male servant now can get a leave of maximum period of 7 days on full pay out side his leave account on or immediately after the birth of his child. Such leave will only be admissible twice in his entire service.

In the same way a female Govt servant may get a leave for maximum period of 90 days with full pay outside his leave account at any time immediately before or after the birth of child and she no need to provide fitness certificate in this regard for joining the duty.

A further amendment in this regard issued on 31-10-2012 is as under which clearly says that the sanction authority for paternity leave is his immediate incharge.

    Respected ma’am what if a female is working in district faisalabad and she obtain a medical certificate for maternity leave from rawalpindi. Is it legally allowed? Issue is her sister is gyne in rawalpindi so she is comfortable under her sister supervision at DHQ rawalpindi. Moreover she can get many favors as separate room etc. I’ll highly oblidged if u cud help in this regard. Some people are saying its legally allowed and some said leave certificate of other district is not allowed

    • Dear Aalya There is no issue. certificate must be countersigned by the civil hospital.

    🙁 this country is just PUNJAB in the eyes of GOVT…… so sad however federal employees should be more facilitate by making good policies and they should be covered and more secure than others…. 🙁
