Government of the Punjab Finance Department has issued Notification No. FD-SR-III/4-41/2008 dated 10-02-2015 in connection with Clarification of Restoration of Pension by Punjab Govt.
According to this Notification, with reference to Finance Department’s O.M of dated 30th January 2015 through which a Complaint Cell was constituted to ensure payments. If any to eligible petitioner pensioner of the Government of the Punjab in accordance with the Judgment of the Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan, reported as Secretary, Govt of Punjab, Finance Department and 269 others versus M. Ismail Tayer and 269 others . It was further clarified vide this Department’s O.M of the dated 6th February 2015 that pensioners other than petitioners may also be submit their applications to the District Accounts Officers as the case may be, Office of the Accountant General of Punjab, who issued their pension payment order (PPO). And complaints to the Complaint Cell, if they are denied pension, including restoration of commuted portion of pension as persrcibed in the applicable rules and increases, if any, in pension, as sanctioned, from time to time, by the Government or they have other lawful grievances.
I am further directed to say that in order to facilitate the pensioners, it has been decided that the pensioners may file their complaints in the District Accounts Office or the case may be, Office of the Accountant General of Punjab who issued their PPO. The DAO, or as the case may be, AG Office is hereby advised to transmit through register mail or special messenger, all complaints so received to the Complaint Cell within twenty four hours of receipts of complaints.
