Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued Notification of Countrywide Drought Alert 2018 vide number Dr-5/drt/ADV/2014-15/ DATED 06-06-2018.
As predicted during Jan-May 2018, below normal rainfall has been recorded over most parts of the country. The winter months (Jan-Mar) 2018 received -62% well below normal rainfall whereas (Apr-May) 2018, it was -9.9%.
