Notification of Issue / Revival Family Pension

Government of Pakistan, Office of the Controller General of Accounts issued Notification on 05-11-2018 in connection with Issue / Revival Family Pension. Detail is as under:

Good news about revival of Pension!!!

[Message from Mr. Manzur Husein, former Auditor General of Pakistan, President Association for Welfare of Retired Persons].

We at AWRP continue to make relentless efforts to bring to Government notice the collective and individual problems and difficulties of retired pensioners.  Such problems and difficulties are not only taken up in writing, but are pursued with Government through personal meetings by the President, Mr. Manzur Husein, with the concerned officers.

As a result of our efforts, the Controller General of Accounts (CGA), Islamabad, has confirmed in writing that if  pension ceases to be payable for any reason, it can always revive if subsequent events justify the revival.  Some illustrative examples are quoted in para 2 the CGA Islamabad OM No.1365/CGA/REG/3-24/2018/54 dated 5 Nov 2018, which is copied below.  In addition to these illustrative examples, other family members may also become eligible for the revived family pension upon occurrence of a subsequent event.

Members are encouraged to

  • bring this good news to the notice of all their friends and relatives, especially those who are not capable of appreciating pension matters intricacies; and
  • to seek further guidance from AWRP. Our Executive Committee member, Agha Amir Ahmad will be glad to answer any queries in this respect. He may be contacted through:

  1. Assalam-O-Alaikum

My father was a federal Govt. employee and died in 1992 at the age of 69. He was drawing pension around Rs. 2,000/= p.m. at the time of death.

I was divorced in 1983. I am 72 years old. I am entitled of my father family pension as “divorcee daughter” as per federal govt. notification issued in July 2015 and the case has been approved by the said department.

Please tell me about pension fixation amount:

Q1. What will be my pension amount per month in 2020?
Q2. Would it be the same that my father was drawing in 1992 Rs. 2,000 pm? OR
Q3. Would it be fixed by adding increase made by the govt. from time to time from 1992 to 2020?
Q4. Is there any Govt. Notification / Court Order in this regard in support of above questions?

Please reply ASAP. I will be grateful to you.

    Regards.
