I am here sharing the LHC Multan Bench Multan Decision Regarding
Appointment on Regular Basis under Rule 17-A Instead of Contract Basis, the
same was decide on 07-02-2019. Detail is as under:
Decision Regarding Appointment on Regular Basis under Rule 17-A Instead of Contract Basis
The petitioners were appointed under
the benefit of Rule 17-A of Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment & Conditions
of Service) Rules, 1974 on contract basis instead of regular basis. This Court
has already held in numerous cases that such appointment shall be made on
regular basis. In this view of the matter, respondent No. 3 present in Court,
undertakes that the petitioner’s services will be regularized within five days
commencing henceforth.
In view of the above undertaking made by respondent No.3, learned counsel for the petitioners feels satisfied and does not press this petition. This petition stands disposed of being fructified.

I was appointed on contract basis in 2004. At that time Deptt. Service Rules were of 1997.
Now they have been amended as Deptt. Service rules 2014.
Which rules shall b apply on my service…? 97 or 2014 for promotion.
Kindly guide with references/notification. Thanx
Sir my daughter has applied for class iv in education departmet on 17a quota in october 2019 and she has completed 40 years of age in February 2020. Now the education department raised objection that she has crossed maximum age limit i. e 40 years inspite the fact that she has applied before crossing maximum age limit. Pls provide any notification of punjab government that age limit will be counted from filing of application and appointment order would also be issued from date of filing of application.
Aoa i want to ask that LHC Multan Bench Decision regarding appoint under rule 17-A is applicable for all the employees in this appointed under 17-A in all districts of the punjab or only for the petitioners.pls guide in this regard

Dear I think this notification can help you as there is 3 years further relaxation for females.
