Reforms in Examination System 2021 FBISE Islamabad

Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Islamabad has issued Reforms in Examination System 2021 FBISE. The details are as under:

Reforms in Examination System 2021 FBISE Islamabad

You may appreciate that examinations are considered to be an integral part of the education system. These are administered both at schools and colleges levels their results are used for various purposes e.g. grading, certification and guidance, etc. Most often these examinations become a source of criticism from various sections of society due to lack of their effectiveness and substance. Therefore, examinations are considered one of the major factors for the deterioration of the education system.

2. In order to ponder over the situation and bringing more reliability and credibility to the examination system, FBISE held meetings with all its stakeholders. In the light of the outcome of these meetings, it has been decided to revamp the basic tool of examination i.e. question paper and making it curriculum and SLOs based rather than textbook-based. As a first step, this change is being made in nine major subjects e.g. English Compulsory, Urdu Compulsory, Islamiyat, Pakistan Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, and Mathematics at SSC and HSSC levels. Thus, the students shall not be restricted to one book rather they shall have the liberty to prepare from any book in consonance with the curriculum contents.

Revised Model Papers

3. Revised Model Question Papers so prepared by the Committees of Courses along with guidelines in the above-mentioned subjects are forwarded herewith for the guidance of the students and teachers both.

4. All the stakeholders are therefore informed that annual examinations 2022 shall be held in accordance with these model question papers and guidelines.

5. It is reiterated that there shall be one question paper based on the current curriculum for all categories of students.
