Extension Time Limit for Recommendations of Pay and Pension Commission

Government of Pakistan, Finance Division has issued a Notification on 03-06-2022 in connection with the Extension Time Limit for Recommendations of Pay and Pension Commission. The details are as under:

Extension Time Limit for Recommendations of Pay and Pension Commission

According to the Notification, the Prime Minister of Pakistan pleased to extend the Pay and Pension Commission notified vide Notification of the dated 12th Nov 2021. The PM has given time to submit the report to the Pay & Pension Commission till 30th June 2022.

                This previous Government constituted the Pay and Pension Commission in 2021. Before this date, there was also the constitution of the Pay & Pension commission in 2020. same. But due to one reason or the other, it could not submit its report. Sometimes its Chairman resigned. Sometimes the commission demands more time to submit the report.

                This commission will submit the report regarding revised pay scales and pension reforms. The commission may also submit its report regarding the uniformity of pay and allowances.

The recommendation of pay and pension commission is continuously delayed even after the protest and demands of the employees to increase pay and pension. Once again the P&PC failed to submit the recommendations.  The PM had already given time till 31st March 2022. In November 2021, the Commission got the time of three months. Previous Prime Minister Imran Khan had removed the Chairperson Nargis Sethi. Now the new PM has further given time till 30th June.
