The Chief Executive Officer of District Education Authority Multan issued a letter with the subject of opening of schools on Friday and Saturday.
Last week school Education Department Government of Punjab released a notification dated 23rd November 2023. According to that notification, the schools or educational institutions remain closed on Saturday and Friday. The decision was taken due to Smog and its dangerous effects.
Multan is one of the most affected cities by Smog in Pakistan Punjab. In order to take safety measures the competent authorities have decided to close the schools on Friday and Saturday.
Rely on Instructions Officially Issued
The competitive authority also makes it clear to all the heads and teachers that all schools will remain open for the whole week now. The educational institutions continue their activities from Monday to Saturday. No one should rely on any notification interpretations except me from the CEO’s Office.
The letter is forwarded to all relatable authorities.
For the safety of students and Government took the initiative to close the instructional activities on weekend days. During six days of instructional activities, the students were affected due to the smog. They were facing fever, sour throat, and eye infections. for now, Due to the minimization of the dangerous effects of smog the schools and other educational institutions will remain open during the mentioned days. the school timing also remains the same as per the previous notification.
Previous Week Notificaion
Before this School Education Department issued a Notification Holiday on Fridays, Saturday and Sunday (24 to 26 Nov 2023). The employees are expecting that the Punjab government will announce more holidays this week too. But still, the Punjab Govt has not issued any notification and thus DEO Multan has to issue the letter that there are no extensions in holidays. The employees will come to school on Friday and Saturday.
