Government of the Punjab, School Education Department issued a Notification on 08-05-2025 in connection with Closing Schools on 9th and 10th May 2025 (Friday and Saturday). The details are as follows:
Closing Schools on 9th and 10th May 2025 (Friday and Saturday), SED Punjab
No.SO(A-I)1-31/2022: Under the approval of the Competent Authority, it is hereby notified that all schools (Public and Private) in Punjab shall remain closed on 9th May, 2025, and 10th May, 2025 (Friday and Saturday). However, examinations scheduled by/on behalf of International Examining bodies (O-Level and A-Level) shall continue as scheduled.
All Chief Executive Officers (DEAs) are directed to ensure compliance with the orders.
Before this Punjab Government issued a Notification of Closing Schools/ Colleges on 7th April 2025 due to the current situation of the country.
Notification of the Higher Education Department, Punjab
The Higher Education Department has also issued a Notification for closing schools till 11th May 2025. Furthermore, all the examinations of Boards of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISEs) / Universities / Colleges in Punjab scheduled to be held on 9th May 2025 and 10th May 2025 shall stand postponed. The new schedule shall be announced separately in due course of time.
