Government of Pakistan, Cabinet Secretariat, Cabinet Division issued a Notification on 23-12-2024 in connection with Public Holiday on 28 May 2025 (Wednesday,) Youm-e-Takbeer. There will be a public holiday for all public including banks and offices. The details are as follows:

The Federal Government has already announced a holiday on 28-05-2025 for all over Pakistan. All Offices and Banks will remain closed on Wednesday, 28th May 2025. Cabinet Division has issued the Notification on 23rd December 2024 as under:

We celebrate Youm-e-Takbeer every year on 28th May officially, but there has been no holiday in the past. The Federal Government announced a holiday for the 1st time this year. Pakistan conducted nuclear tests on 28th May 1998 at 15:15 Hrs at Chagai (Balochistan). Although Pakistan already has power of nuclear but, Pakistan has to make it publically due to earlier nuclear tests by India.
