Government of the Punjab, Finance Department issued a Notification on 10-07-2025 in connection with the Grant Increase in Pension 2025 Punjab Civil Pensioners. The pensioners of the Punjab will get an increase in pension @ 5% of net pension with effect from 1st July 2025. The details are as follows:

 

Grant Increase in Pension 2025 Punjab Civil Pensioners

 

As per the Notification of the dated 10 July 2025:

 

1. I am directed to state that Governor of the Punjab has been pleased to sanction an increase @5% of the net pension (i.e. 50% of the Adhoc relief allowance-2025 @10% sanctioned by the Government of the Punjab) w.e.f 01^st July, 2025 until further orders to all existing civil pensioners of Government of the Punjab, in accordance with proviso under sub-rule(1) of Rule 4.4 of the Punjab Civil Services Pension Rules inserted vide this Department’s Notification bearing No. FD.SR-III-4-244/2023(B), dated 02-12-2024.
2. This 5% (Five Percent) increase in pension, as mentioned in Para-1 above, will not be admissible to the pensioners who would retire on or after 01-07-2025.
3. For the purpose of admissibility of increase in pension sanctioned in this circular letter, the term “Net Pension” means “Pension being drawn” minus “Medical Allowance”.

 

Increase Applicable on Family Pension

 

1. The increase will also be admissible on family pension granted under the Pension-cum-Gratuity Scheme, 1954, Liberalized Pension Rules 1977, on pension sanctioned under the Punjab Civil (Services pension rules, as well as on the Compassionate Allowance.
2. If the Gross pension stated by the Government of the Panjab is shared with any Government in accordance with the rules laid down in Part-IV of Appendix-III to the Accounts Code, Volume-I, the amount of the increase in pension will be appointed between the Government of Punjab and the other Government concerned on a proportionate basis.
3. The increase in pension sanctioned in this circular letter will not be admissible on Special Additional Pension Allowed in lieu of pre-retirement Orderly Allowance.
4. The benefit if increase in pension sanctioned in this circular letter will also be admissible to those civil pensioners of the Punjab Government who are residing abroad (other than those residing in Indian and Bangladesh) w retied on or after 15-08-1947 are not entitled to, or are not in receipt of pension increase under the British Government’s Pension (increase) Acts. The payment will be made at the applicable rate of exchange.
