Key responsibilities for the post of fact checker

 

1. a) Digital Media Monitoring:
2. Continuously monitor all major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube etc.)
3. Track emerging narratives, trends, and potential misinformation related to ECP.
4. Develop real-time tracking mechanisms for viral content and emerging ECP discourse.
5. Identify and categorize potential sources of misinformation.
6. b) Fact-Checking and Verification:
7. Systematically verify claims, statements, and narratives circulating on digital platforms.
8. Cross-reference information with official sources, electoral data, and authenticated records.
9. Prepare detailed fact-checking reports with clear evidence and source citations.
10. Develop rapid response protocols for addressing electoral misinformation.

 

1. c) Reporting and Communication:

 

1. Produce daily and weekly comprehensive reports on digital media trends.

 

2. Prepare immediate alerts for critical misinformation that may impact electoral integrity.

 

3. Collaborate with Spokesperson or PRO to develop strategic rebuttals.

 

4. Maintain a centralized database of verified and disputed claims.

 

INSTRUCTIONS
