I am sharing the latest Recent Updates Enhancement of Rental Ceiling 2025 for Federal Government Employees. The Housing and Works Department has conveyed the decision to increase hiring for the federal Government employees. This rental ceiling of hiring is for the employees working at the 6 specified cities of Pakistan only. The details are as follows:

Contents of Decision

The Cabinet considered the summary dated 30th October, 2025 submitted by the Housing & Works Division, which was circulated in terms of rule 17(1)(b) read with rule 19(1) of the Rules of Business, 1973 for ‘Enhancement of Rental Ceiling for the Federal Government Employees’ and approved the proposal at para 6 read with para 4 of the summary.

It is to mentioning here that the Ministry of Finance has already issued an OM on 25-09-2025 in connection with the Revision of the Rental Ceiling for hiring for the Federal Government employees working at the six specified cities of Pakistan.

Who will get it, and How Much will hiring increase?

This is a good step for the Federal Government employees. The employees of the following cities will get an increase in hiring:

• Lahore
• Karachi
• Quetta
• Peshwar
• Rawalpindi
• Islamabad

 

The Housing and Works Department will issue the Notification very soon. There is are chance that the H&W Department will issue the Notification in a couple of days or during the next week.

How Much?

The Federal Government has approved an 85% increase in the hiring rates for 2025.

The Ministry of Housing and Works issued a Notification on 03-11-2025 in connection with the Revised Rates of Rental Ceiling of House Hiring 2025 for the Federal Government employees.
