As per the Daily Jang dated 17 Jan 2026, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has given a decision on the pension of Resignation of Govt Employee and the delay of the application. The details are as follows:

According to the news, the Supreme Court of Pakistan put aside the decision of the Service Tribunal on the pension on resignation of the civil servant. The honourable judge mentioned in the decision that the pension is not the Khairat or Reward, but it is the legal right of the employee after long service. The employee can not be deprived of the pension on the just basis that he could not apply for pension in time or he resigned from service.

 

Details of the Case

Mr. Muhammad Usman was working as a senior auditor in MAG Rawalpindi. He resigned from service after 20 years of service in 2007. When he applied for a pension, firstly his department and later on the Federal Service Tribunal given decision against his application. Later on, he appealed in the SCP, and the court gave a decision in favour of the said employee.
