New motorway and highway speed limits Pakistan notification has been issued by the National Highways Motorway Police on 10th March, 2026, in connection with austerity and fuel conservation measures. The notification directs the concerned authorities to revise and notify updated speed limits for vehicles on motorways and national highways to ensure fuel conservation and improved road compliance.

New Motorway and Highway Speed Limits Pakistan Notification Details

Please find enclosed herewith a copy of letter No. 6(3)/2023-ADMN dated 10-03-2026 received from Section Officer (Admin), Ministry of Communications, Islamabad, on the subject cited above.

In compliance with the directions issued by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, it is requested that the necessary guidelines be issued to all concerned to revise and notify speed limits prescribed as under at the earliest:

Motorway PSV/HTV 110 km/hr 90 km/hr
Highways Car / LTV 100 km/hr 80 km/hr
Highways PSV/HTV 80 km/hr 65 km/hr
  1. Concerned quarters should also coordinate with NHMP field formations to install or alter road signage for awareness and compliance by commuters.

  2. The Inspector General NHMP approved this notification.
