Grant of Group Insurance to Retired Employees of Government of Sindh

Government of Sindh School Education & Literacy Department has issued letter on 18-04-2019 in connection with Grant of Group Insurance to Retired Employees of Government of Sindh. Detail is as under:

The Secretary, Finance Department, government of Sindh, Karachi may kindly refer to the subject noted above.

2.   It is submitted that a meeting of the delegation of Government Secondary Teachers Association (GSTA) Sindh was held with Honourable Minister for School Educational Minister for School Education & Literacy Department on 20th March, 2019 and it was observed that the matter regarding grant of group insurance of all officers / officials after their retirement on attaining the age of superannuation i.e. 60 years is in active consideration of Finance Department.

3.    In this regard, it is further added here that number of employees of School Education & Literacy Department is much more than any other Department of the Government of Sindh and there is a large number of Officers/ Officials in this Department who are approaching  and requesting for grant of the amount of the amount of group Insurance after the date of their retirement, but the Administrative Department is waiting for final decision / order of Competent Authority.      

4.   In the light of above facts, it is therefore proposed that the matter regarding grant of Group Insurance on the retirement of officers / officials of School Education & literacy Department may be considered and Necessary action may be taken accordingly.

    Dear Sir,
    I was retired from the services of Pakistan Steel Mills Karachi on 15th of June,2000 and awaiting for the payment of Group Insurance since long,while,the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan has already announced the judgement against petition No.P-2013 -1355 in which it was decided that the retired employees are allowed the payment of group insurance amount in the context of completion of their service till date of their retirement.
    Kindly guide accordingly.

  2. every government employee subscribe Group Insurance during his service honestly and regularly each month up-to his retirement but it is dishonesty he is not paid its reward after retirement. On just grounds no employee be deprived of his legitimate right but right from existence of Pakistan nation is observing no high echelon concerning department found sympathetic and followed the rules….All provinces which are now divided for disunity and fell in discrimination must to think for the welfare of their nation and what legal / genuine benefits they deserve be granted…

    1. Dear sir my father retaird on 15/6/2009. Death on 25/5/2013. Cn i apply 2 group insurance he ws in agriculture department Bps 17..

  3. please provide a clear copy of supreme court judgement for providing Group Insurance deducted amount to retired Federal Govt Employees (not provincial govt employees).

  4. AOA, it seems that such news are only on employees websites.and social media, because no department is ready to accept the responsibility of these news.Neither clear copy of KPK high court not supreme court decision is available on any sites..
