Government of the Punjab, School Education Department has issued Notification No. SO(A-1)1-31/2008 dated 01-04-2020 in connection with Summer Vacation 2020 Punjab schools. These holidays, according to Notification, will be observed by the following:
Summer Vacation 2020 Punjab Govt & Private Schools
- Government Schools in the province of Punjab
- All Private Schools in Punjab Province
The Notification says, “In pursuance of this Department’s notification of Even No. dated 13-03-2020, all public and private schools shall remain closed until 31st May 2020. The closure shall be treated as summer vacation 2020.”
As you know the Federal Government has already announced the same step for all the educational institutions of the country including all schools, colleges and universities for all provinces as well as for the Federal educational institutions. To implement the orders of the Federal Government of Pakistan, Notification of Advance Summer Holidays 2020, has already been issued by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Now Punjab Government School Education Department has also taken step although they have already announced the same a few days ago that schools will be closed till the last date of May. But they still not had issued the Notification till 31-03-2020. But they now have implemented the orders in written on 1st April and issued the Notification.
Students and Online Teaching
Students who are already at home due to the spread of coronavirus in various parts of the country. They have not yet assigned the home task. However Punjab Government has taken a bold step to teach them online. In this regard they have started Taaleem Ghar online teaching program in the province. Students can keep them busy with these online courses from 1st to 8th class during this period. I hope students will learn a lot from these online lectures during these Summer Holidays 2020 that the Education Department has granted to teachers and students in advance. If the situation were not so, the department would grant holidays starting from June 2020.
