For the information and guidance of employees and pensioners, I am sharing the details of the Chart of Benefits to the Family of Deceased Civil Servant Punjab. .The details are as under:

Pension Salary

 

 

 Notification No. FD. SR.I/3-10/2004 dated 15.08.2017 Sr. No 2(i) read with FD. SR-I/3-3/2017 dated 29.11.2017.

The deceased’s family shall be allowed salary, along with an annual increase in the pay till the date of superannuation i.e., 60 years.

In case of death of the widow, salary will remain continued to the dependents of the deceased employee till the age of superannuation. After the date of superannuation, family pension shall be allowed as per clause 4.10 of the Punjab Civil Services Pension Rules 1967.

Payment of Group Insurance shall be made with the following rates.

BPS-11 to BPS-15 Rs. 300,000/-
BPS-16 Rs. 400,000/-
BPS-17 Rs. 600,000/-
BPS-18 Rs. 875,000/-
BPS-19 Rs. 1050,000/-
BPS-20 and Above Rs. 1250,000/-

 

Leave Encashment

 

 

 Notification No.FD-SR-II/2-141/2012 dated 09.09.2013 read with FD. SR-I/3- 3/2017 dated 29.11.2017 and FD.SR-1/3-10/2004(P) dated 12.09.2017.

A lump-sum payment equal to 365 days in terms of Rule 19 of the Revised Leave Rules, 1981 will be paid to the deceased’s family at the time of death.

 

4 Months’ Salary

 

 

 Notification No. FD.SR-1-3/99 dated 01.07.2002 read with FD. SR- I/3-3/2017 dated 29.11.2017 and FD.SR-1/3-10/2004(P) dated 12.09.2017.

Four months’ salary (pay last drawn plus allowances will be paid to the deceased’s family at the time of death.

Retention of Government Accommodation

 

Notification No. FD. SR.I/3-10/2004 dated 15.08.2017 Sr. No 3.

The family of the deceased employee shall be allowed retention of Govt. accommodation till the age of superannuation as per provisions of the CSR (Pb), Vol-1 Part-I read with the allotment Policy issued by S&GAD vide EO(S&GAD)Policy/2009/345 dated 19.01.2009.

 

Appointment of One Child/Widow/Widower

 

Notification No. FD. SR.1/3- 10/2004 dated 15.08.2017 Sr. No 5 read with FD. SR-I/3-3/2017 dated 29.11.2017.

One child or widow in BPS-1 to 11 (including the post of Patwari & Jr. Clerk) will be appointed after the death of the employee as per provisions of Rule 17-A of the Punjab Civil Services (A&CS) Rules, 1974.

 

Family Pension/Gratuity

 

Notification No. FD-SR-III-4.108/2010 (D) dated 30.09.2010 read with No. FD. SR.1/3-10/2004 dated 15.08.2017.

After the date of superannuation i.e. 60 years, family pension shall be allowed as per the Punjab Civil Services Pensions Rules, 1967.

 

GP Fund (General Provident Fund)

 

Notification No. FD. SR.1/3-10/2004 dated 15.08.2017 Sr. No 9 read with No. FD. SR-I/3-3/2017 dated 29.11.2017.

GP Fund will be paid at the option of the family i.e. at the time of death or superannuation. Whereas GP Fund shall be deducted from the salary (OSD post) of the deceased’s family at the option of the family.

 

Health

 

Notification No.FD.SR.I/3-10/2004 dated 15.08.2017 Sr. No.7.

Free Health facilities as per their entitlement during service of the family of the deceased employee under the provisions of the West Pakistan Medical (Attendance) Rules, 1959

Farewell Grant

 

Under the Punjab Government Servants Benevolent Funds Part-I & II (Disbursement) Rules, 1965 & 1966 and U.O.No.FD.SR-1/3-10/2004(P) dated 12.09.2017.

Farewell grant equal to last basic pay is allowed to the family of the deceased employee which shall be paid at the time of death.

    If a civil servant of Punjab Government in Pakistan dies after 7 months of his appointment and can it be granted salary to the widow till the age of superannuation i.e. upto 60 years? financil assistance also granted Plz advice with rules/clarification and necssary notification

  2. If a civil servant dies, and he has a family of 3 children and one widow. Will all the benefits go to his wife only? Or parents of deceased have shared too in these above benefits?

If a civil servant of Punjab Government in Pakistan dies after 5 years of his appointment and did not qualify for pensionary benefits can it be granted salary to the widow till the age of superannuation i.e. upto 60 years? Plz advice with rules/clarification and any court decision or precedents.
