Final Announcement: 25% from BPS-01 to BPS-19
Notification, the Government will issue today at 11 am or 2 PM today. Finally, the Government agreed to raise the salary of all employees by 20% to BPS-01 to BPS-19. However, all other demands and conditions of this Adhoc relief allowance will be clear in the Notification. Govt has given a one-month deadline for the service structure of various employees.
According to the news, the employees will continue sitting till they get the Notification today as agreed by the Government. As per the sources, there will now only the Govt will increase the salary for the employees of BPS-01 to BPS-19. Government will raise the salaries for the other remaining officers during the coming Budget 2021-22. The increase will be in the shape of Adhoc Relief Allowance. There will be no revision in Basic Pay Scales.
History of the Whole Situation Demands of APCA
The employees are protesting for many weeks and especially for the last week. They are demanding that the salaries of the employees are too meager to meet the daily necessities of their families. They are forced to live on the pay that they are getting. The Government did not raise the salaries for the last year and even in 2018, the salaries of the employees were just a minor raise.
There were negations between the employees and the Government. The Government agreed to increase the salaries of the employees @ 40% but only for the Federal employees of BPS-01 to BPS-16. Later Government representative told that this 40% increase will not be on the running basic pay. This is on the initial of the basic pay that comes to the actual 24%. This was another cause of the deadlock. Another reason for the same was that there were demands that the salary should be for employees of BPS-01 to BPS-22. And this they demand all Government employees of Pakistan.
The point of the Government is that the Government Treasury cannot bear the salaries of all the employees of BPS-01 to BPS-22. The Government can only fulfill the demand for an increase in salaries for the employees of BPS-01 to BPS-16.
