Gilgit Baltistan Secretariat Finance Department has issued a Notification on 05-07-2021 in connection with Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA) 2021 GB. The details are as under:
Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA) 2021 GB
Consequent upon recommendations of the Gilgit-Baltistan Cabinet in its 5th meeting held on 13th April 2021, subsequent approval of the Chief Minister GB. The GP Assembly endorsed the same under Budget Session 2021-22. The Government of Gilgit Baltistan is pleased to grant Disparity Reduction Allowance @ 25% of the basic pay scales of 2017 with effect from 1st March 2021. This allowance is for the employees of BPS-01 to BPS-19 who have not got the special allowance equal to or more than 100%. The conditions for this allowance are as under:

The employees who are drawing 100% or more additional allowance will not get this allowance
The GB Govt has frozen this allowance at the level as on 1st March 2021.
This allowance is on the running basic pay or current basic pay.

Is GB DRA on Running or Initial Basic Pay?
The Gilgit Baltistan Government has notified this allowance on the current or running basic pay. It means the basic pay that the employee is currently getting. You can clarify the same from para “e” and “i” of this Notification. Federal Government also announced the DRA on running basic pay. Punjab Govt did not grant the DRA instead it announced Special Allowance that is on initial basic pay.
