Government of the Punjab, Finance Department issued a Notification on 26-05-2022 in connection with the Qualification Required for Admissibility of Advance Increments to English Teachers. As per the Notification, the basic qualification for recruitment of Elementary School Teachers (English) was BA/BSc (minimum 2^nd Division) along with CT or B.Ed (minimum 2^nd Division).  The details are as under:

I direct to refer to your letter No. IT.FD(TT)9-2/2020 dated 02.12.2021 on the subject noted above.

The Finance Department examined the case. The finance department observes that the basic qualification for the recruitment of EST English teachers was B.A/ B.Sc (2^nd division) with CT/B.Ed (2^nd division). That was as per Punjab Education Department (School Education) Recruitment Rules, 1987 amended vide No.SOR-III (S&GAD)1-13/2004 dated 28.07.2004, the same was also reflected in the advertisement for recruitment of English Teacher vide newspaper dated 06.01.1997. Hence, the EST English Teachers who have the said qualification are entitled to grant Advance increments of M.A/ M.ED in the light of the Finance Department’s letter bearing No. FD.SR-V.21-47/2012 dated 07.04.2021.

For the information of teachers and students, SED Punjab has also issued the Notification of Summer Vacation 2022 in Punjab Schools with effect from 1^st June 2022.
