Government of the Punjab, Finance Department issued a Notification on 07-12-2023 in connection with Revised Rates of Financial Assistance 2023 Punjab Government Employees who die while in service. The family of such employees will get financial assistance as per the new enhanced rates 2023. As per the revised notification, the Employment under Rule 17-A will be discontinued. Before this one child or the widow got the job. But as per new rules, the lump sum payment amount, the department increased. The effective date of the new rules is 21st November 2023.
Revised Rates of Financial Assistance 2023 Punjab Government Employees
The table of Enhanced rates of financial assistance to the family of the deceased Government employee is as under:

Government Jobs under Assistance Package Punjab
As per the new rules the son, daughter, or widow will get no more job. Previously the son, daughter, or widow got the job on a contract or regular basis. The job mostly includes Junior Clerk or Patwari.

Revision in Financial Assistant Packages
On the order of the government of Pakistan, the finance department issues a letter to all the administrative and other competent authorities. The main subject of the letter is to Revise the Financial Assistance Package for the family of a civil servant who died while in service. All civil servants are hardworking and devoted to their profession and their duties. That’s why the government pays them attractive salary packages during their lifetime. But after their death during service government of Pakistan also supported their family. It provides them with financial assistance in the form of special packages for the whole family. It pays them in lump sum grant from the Basic Space Scale- 01 up to Basic Pay Scale- 20 and above.
Implication of FAP 2023
In continuation of this department’s policy finance department issued a notification on 15th August 2017. The letter was issued after the decision of the caretaker provincial cabinet in its 32nd meeting help on 21st November 2023. In the latest meeting, the governor of Punjab approved the revision in the provision of serial numbers -01 and 05 of para -01 of the existing Financial Assistance Package. The revision of packages will be implemented from 21st November 2023.
Rate of change in Financial Assistant Packages for Different Pay Scales
- According to the revised package, all the employees from BPS-01 up to BPS-04 change from Rs.1.60 million up to Rs.5.0 million.
- From BPS-05 up to BPS-10 the rates are increased from Rs.1.90 million up to Rs.7.5 Million.
- Families of deceased officials of BPS-11 up to BPS-15 will be eligible for Rs.10 million.
- Deceased Official’s Family from BPS-16 up to 17 will receive Rs.15 million.
- There is a special grant for the officials from BPS-18 up to BPS-19 of Rs.20 million. The previous package was Rs.3.40 million.
- The revised Financial Assistance Package for all deceased Civil Servant’s Families is Rs.20 Million.
