National Assembly Secretariat, Office of the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs / Chief Whip (Ruling Party) issued a Notice on 06-05-2025 in connection with the Latest Updates of the Salary / Pension Increase Budget 2025-26. As per the Notice, the NA Secretariat scheduled a meeting of the committee on 8th May 2025. The details are as follows:
The Latest Updates of Salary / Pension Increase Budget 2025-26
As per the Notice, the 03rd meeting of the sub-Committee of the “Committee to Review Demands by all Government Employees Grand Alliance” the NA Secretariate has scheduled on Thursday, the 08th May, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. in the office of the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs / Chief Whip (RP), Room No.111, 1st floor, Parliament House, Islamabad to discuss the following agenda items:-
Agenda of the Meeting
The agenda of the meeting that the National Assembly Secretariat scheduled on 8th May 2025 is as under:
Pension Reforms;
Appointment against the PM’s Assistance Package; and
Any other item with the permission of the Chair.
The undersigned requests that the Honourable members/participants of the meeting to kindly make it convenient to attend the meeting at the time and venue mentioned above.
As per the above, the contents of the Notice, the committee will review the following:
Pension Reforms
The employees are demanding that the government revert to recent pension changes that are a huge loss for the pensioners. The employees are facing more than a 25% loss in their pension and commute after the introduction of Pension Reforms 2024/ Pension Rules. Recently retiring employees are facing the issues of lower pension and commute/gratuity.
PM Assistance Package Appointment
The government has eliminated the rule of appointment of son/daughter/wife, etc, after the death of Government employees. That is also a very big loss for the families of the deceased employees. The employees have the demand to restore the PM Assistance Package 2025 for the in-service death cases.
Any Other Item
The Committee should also ponder over the other demands of the employees, these demands are an increase in House Rent Allowance, Conveyance Allowance increase, Medical Allowance, Grant of Disparity Reduction Allowance 2025, and others.
