The Azad Government of the State of Jammu & Kashmir, Secretariat, Elementary & Secondary Education issued a Notification on 07-05-2025 in connection with Closing Schools and Colleges till Further Orders in AJK. The Government decided so, keeping in view the current situation between Pakistan and India. The details are as follows:

Closing Schools and Colleges till Further Orders in AJK

As per the Notification, the Secretary of Elementary and Secondary Education, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, has issued approval for closing all educational institutions in Azad Jammu & Kashmir till further orders. These educational institutions include all Public and Private Schools and Colleges in AJK.

These orders are only for AJK schools and colleges under the control of the Elementary and Secondary Education Department. Still at 1900 HRS Punjab Government has not issued any Notification for the closure of schools/colleges/universities in Punjab. The notifications in circulation on social media are fake. The Punjab Government will make the decision to close educational institutions if required on 7^th May 2025. As soon as I get the details, I shall share them for the information of students, teachers, and parents.

Today, on 07-05-2025, the Punjab Government issued a Notification for closing schools/colleges/universities on 7th May 2025, which was just for one day.
