Government of the Punjab, Finance Department issued a Notification on 20-08-2025 in connection with Family Pension to Spouse for Life for Punjab Pensioners. Now the spouse will get the family pension for life or till re-marriage instead of 10 years. The details are as follows:

 

Family Pension to Spouse for Life (Punjab Pensioners) 2025

 

As per the Notification, NO.FD.SR-III-4-244/2023. In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 23 of the Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974(VIII of 1974), the Governor of the Punjab is pleased to make the following amendments in the Punjab Civil Services Pension Rules, with effect from 02-12-2024:

                                    

Amendment in Pension Rules

 

In the Punjab Civil Services Pension Rules, CHAPTER IV- AMOUNT OF ORDINARY PENSIONS, SECTION III-C-FAMILY PENSION, the existing rule 4.10 (1) shall be substituted as under:

“(1) A family pension sanctioned under this rule shall be admissible to the extent of the spouse for life or till remarriage:

Provided further that in case a Government Servant had more than one wives, the pension shall be divided equally among the widows.”;

 

Notification Finance Division, Govt of Pakistan

 

The Finance Division, Government of Pakistan, had already issued a Notification on 10-09-2024 in connection with Family Pension for 10 Years. The Punjab Government had already announced for only 10 years to the spouse. Now it is good news to extend the pension for life or till remarriage of the widow.

15. The chief Pilot, VIP Flight, Lahore.
