I am sharing the Latest Updates of Increase in Rental Celling of Hiring  / HRA as on 25-08-2025. The case of the enhancement rental ceiling for hiring for the hired /own house for the Federal Government employees is already in process. However no updates on an increase in House Rent Allowance (HRA) for the Federal employees.  The details of the same are as follows:

According to the statement of Mr. Rehman Ali Bajwa, the file of the rental ceiling of hiring againwas  moved to the Finance Secretary for approval. His statement is as under:

As you know, the file for hiring was sent to the Finance Division many times, and it was also returned the same way with some observations. The last time, about a couple of weeks the Finance Division again returned the file with some observations, and the concerned department has again resubmitted the case for approval of the Finance Secretary. Now, as per the statement of Mr. Rehman Ali Bajwa, the file is with the respected Finance Secretary for approval.

               There is are chance that the respected Finance Secretary will finally approve the file this time. All employees should pray for the approval of the file for the increase in I rental ceiling for hiring. There was a previous update of the rental ceiling for hiring  Aug 2025 for the Federal Employees. Now this is the latest one.

 

Request to enhance House Rent Allowance (HRA)

 

There are a large number of Federal Government employees living/working in 6 specified cities and other cities of Pakistan. These employees are getting House Rent Allowance instead of a hiring facility. The rates of HRA for the employees working in Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Karachi, and Peshawar are meager. The employees are unable to manage a house on rent at the rates that the Government is providing them. The BPS-16 employee is just getting an HRA of nearly 4500/- per month, which is not enough to get a house on rent in Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Karachi, and Peshawar. In other cities, the situation is the same. The employees request the Government to enhance the rates of HRA to a minimum on the basis of the Revised Pay Scales 2022. They are currently getting HRA on the initial of Revised Pay Scales 2008, plus a 50% increase in 2017/2018.
