The Government of Pakistan has revised the basic pay scales many times since 1972. The list of the years during which these Basic Pay Scales were revised is as under:

Salient Features of the Basic Pay Scale Chart 1972 to 2022
In these charts you will see the following salient features:
- All charts have BPS-01 to BPS-22
- Minimum Basic Pay of a particular pay scale
- Maximum Basic Pay of a particular pay scale
- Annual Increment rates of each basic pay scale from BPS-01 to BPS-22
- No of stages for each BPS for each Revised Pay Scales. These stages remained maximum 30 for some BPS. However these stages are also minimum 3 for some years. There are also 10 and 15 stages for some BPS in different Revised Pay Scales.

Recent Basic Pay Scales 2022
The currently the Government employees are getting their salary as per the Revised Basic Pay Scales 2022 Chart. After that since May 2026 Government has not revised the pay scales. Most of the allowances, the employees are getting on the basis of 2022 pay scales.
