Demand to Increase Conveyance Allowance in Budget 2026-27
There are many reasons, the employees demand to increase in Conveyance Allowance in Budget 2026-27. One of the main reason is the increase in petrol prices many times since the last time CA increased. Now calculate the prices of petrol and conveyance allowance the Government increased last time for the Government employees.

2012
The Finance Division increased the Conveyance Allowance last time as under:

The above is the detail of Increase in Conveyance Allowance for the last time in history. BPS-01 to BPS-15 Employees have the revised conveyance allowance last time with effect from 1st July 2014 while the employees of BPS-16 to BPS-19 had revision in Conveyance Allowance wef 01-09-2022 for the last time. Then after about 12 to 14 years there is no increase in Conveyance allowance for the employees.
Petrol Prices on 1st Sep 2012 & 1st July 2014 and Current Fuel Prices May 2026
- On 01-09-2012 Rs. 104. 55 per litre
- On 01-07-2014 Rs. 107. 97 per litre
- On 29-05-2026 Rs. 403.78 per litre
How much increase in Petrol since 2012?
Since 2012 there is a 403.78 / 104.55 = 3.86 times increase in the petrol prices that is nearly 4 times.
How Much Increase Conveyance Allowance in Budget 2026-27 the Employees Demand?
Keeping in view the above facts, the Government should increase the Conveyance Allowance the 4 times of the current CA. The 4 times of the existing CA calculations are as under:
