I have already published a detailed article on the calculation of interest amount manually on Motorcar, Motorcycle, and House Building Advance. At the request of the visitors of my site, I am today publishing a detailed article on “Calculation of Motorcycle/Motorcar/House Building Advance Interest in MS Excel Sheet”.
Calculation of Interest on Motorcar & Motorcycle Advance
Generally, the Motorcar & Motorcycle Advance refundable amount is in 60 monthly installments. The interest amount will further increase the number of installments. 60 installments are for the amount that is taken in advance. A sum of Rs. 75,000 is granted as Motorcycle Advance provided the basic pay of the employee is between Rs.7501/- to Rs/19,999/- while a sum of Rs. 450,000/- is granted as Motorcar Advance provided the Basic Pay of the employee is Rs.20,000/- or more.
Just enter the total amount, the number of installments, and the interest rate during which the advance was taken.
Calculation of Interest on House Building Advance
The return of HBA Advance is in 120 monthly installments. For Non-Gazetted Employees, the amount is interest-free while the Gazetted Employees have to pay the Interest on the House Building Advance. 120 monthly installments are for the actual amount drawn as HBA while the interest amount will increase the number of installments.
36 Basic Pays are granted as HBA and the minimum service for the same is 10 years.
Just also enter the total amount taken as HBA, the number of installments, and the interest rate during which the advance was taken.
Note: Interest Rate is the same as GP Fund Annual Interest Rate and it is taken from the year during which the amount has been taken as Advance.
Suppose your amount of advance is passed from July 2012 to June 2013 then the interest rate of the year 2012-13 will be applicable.

Amount of Interest= Total Loan Amount x (No of Instalments +1) x Interest Rate /2400 |

I have been granted HBA loan when I was non gazeted now I have been promoted to the post of BPS 16 gazeted will they deduct interest on my remaining balance
No, Accounts Office will not deduct interest as you were non-gazetted at the time of getting HBA.
AOA I cannot download the excel file of calculation of HBA. What was the interest rate for HBA in 2018-2019.

Please explain/mention in details the calculation for House Building Loan …since the above calculation as per your excel sheet is for the 5 years (whereas the house building loan is for 10 years)
You can type 10 instead of 5 where period years is written

1). how the interest will be repaid. i know the total interest. how it will be devided in months.
2). Can i repay the actual amount in 5 years, if yes then interest would be half or not.

@Zaman HBA is interest free for grade 1 to 15 govt employees and you can repay it in 10 years
1to 15 is interest-free and also interest-free for the employees who don’t get interest on GP Fund. But the employees of BPS-16 and above who get interest on their GP Fund will have to pay interest on HBA.

Will you please clear what is meant by pay and basic pay for the purpose of HBA. Upto 36 gross pay or basic pay the HBA will be?
Amount of HBA is equal to 36 months basic pay not gross pay

now Agpr send me a letter to changing in my previous application of hba in bps-9. now I m in bps11, therefore, I have changed my application according to current basic.

Submit new application as your pay and scale changed…..however your seniority for HBA will remain unchanged

Dear Deepak GOvt loan and Bank Loan is different. Both can be obtained.

Dear Saad without interest is HBA for Non Gazetted and cycle advance is also w/out interest. Agar aap apnay GP fund ko without interest kar lain gay to sub advances without interest ho jain gay.
