Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Relief Rehabilitation & Settlement Department has issued Notification No. SO (Admn)RR&SD/2-49 / 2020 dated 03-04-2020 in connection with Extension Public Holidays for KPK Employees. The detail is as under:
Extension Public Holidays for KPK Employees
In continuation of this Department Notification of the date 23-03-2020 and 27-03-2020 regarding Public Holidays, the Provincial Cabinet in its meeting held on 3rd April 2020 has approved the extension of Public Holidays from 06-04-2020 to 11-04-2020 (Sunday to Sunday).
The above orders shall not apply to essential services already notified vide above referred notifications by this Department.
It is added here that this is the third time that the Government of KPK has to make an extension in holidays in the province. Previously they announced Public Holidays up to 5th April 2020 throughout the province. Now they felt the need to further extend these holidays for employees. The same they decided so to save the employees of various departments from the effects of coronavirus. These holidays are not for all the departments of the KPK province. There are certain departments that will not observe these holidays. Examples of these departments are police, health, Rescue 1122, district administrations and some others.
KPK Government has already announced summer holidays for Government schools, colleges, and university teachers and students. They also announced summer holidays 2020 by private schools etc for the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Not only this, the Government had to decide to postpone all the Board Exams in the province to save the students. The employees so given relaxation would keep themselves at home and make social distancing. They should now keep busy with positive activities at home.
