Pakistan Railways Headquarter Office Lahore has issued a Notification on 15-04-2022 in connection with the Re-designation and Upgradation of the Post of Key Punch Operator/DEO Pakistan Railways.
Upgradation of the Post of Key Punch Operator/ Data Entry Operator
In reference to the Ministry of Railway’s letter No. 1/2/2008-E-1, dated 27-05-2011, the posts of Computer Operators/Key Punch Operators have been re-designated as Data Entry Operators and were upgraded to BPS-12 and in order to standardize the pay Scales of the Data Entry Operators in the Government Departments in the light of policy guidelines for the up-gradation/re-designation of the posts in the light of Para-2(a) of the Establishment Division’s O.M. No. 8/36/2000-R-1 dated 20-01-2001, the Finance Division agree to the observations/recommendations of the Establishment Division as contained in their OM. No. 8/2/2005-R-1, dated 3rd December 2010 and decides that:-
Decisions Made
- The posts of Computer Operator/Key Punch Operator/keypunch Verifying Operator (BS-07), where ever-existing, may be re-designated as Data Entry Operator (BS-12).
- The posts of Data Entry Operator may be upgraded from BPS-10 to BPS-12 in all Government Departments. In the Ministries/Division/Departments which have the posts of Data Entry Operator in a basic pay scale higher than BS-12 the said posts may be down-graded to BPS-12 as and when the present incumbents of the post leave the said posts.
- The qualification for appointment to the up-graded posts of Data Entry Operator (BPS-12) may be prescribed as a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics/Mathematics/ Statistics/Economics with a minimum speed of 10,000 key Depression per hour for Data Entry, in the Recruitment rules to be amended/framed with the concurrence of Establishment Division.
- Accordingly, the original nomenclature of Senior Data Entry Operator (BS-10)/H.Q is restored as Key Punch Operator/BS-10, H.Q. Office, Lahore in accordance with the Recruitment Rules of staff under Director/IT., Headquarters Office, Lahore, Circulated vide this office Notification No. 831-E/132-XIV (E.Policy) dated 22.06.1989.
- The condition of qualification Operators/Key Punch Operators have been re-designated as Data Entry Operators and up-graded to BPS-12 by the Establishment/Finance Division which was circulated.
