Government of the Punjab, Services & General Administration Department (regulations Wing) issued a Notification on 17-05-2022 in connection with the amendment of Recruitment Rules Sanitary Worker / Sweeper / Sweepress / Jamadar / Khakrob. The details are as under:
In exercise of the powers conferred under section 23 of the Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974 (VIII of 1974), the Governor of Punjab is pleased to direct that in all the service/recruitment rules framed under section 23 of the Act ibid, against the post of “Sanitary Worker / Sweeper / Sweeperess / jamadar / Khakrob (BS-1)”. The expression “Only non-Muslims / persons who belong to Minorities will be accommodated”. Wherever existing shall be omitted with immediate effect.
As per the above details, now the Muslims can also join the post of sweeper, sanitary worker, etc. Before this Government of Punjab only recruited Non-Muslims for the said posts.
