Government of Pakistan Finance Division issued a Notification on 16-05-2025 in connection with Clarification Only One Pension or Salary on Job After Retirement / Re-employment / Appointment After Retirement. In the previous Notification dated 22-04-2025, the Finance Division notified that Only One Pension After retirement job is eligible. Now, the Finance Division has further clarified the date of implementation of the action of one pension. The details are as follows:
Clarification Only One Pension or Salary on Job After Retirement
The undersigned is directed to refer to Finance Division Office Memorandum No. 9(3)R-6/2024-100 dated 22-04-2025 on the subject noted above and to state that the Finance Division is in receipt of queries with regard to the applicability of the word “henceforth” used in the above-referred Office Memorandum.
In this context, it is clarified that the decision conveyed vide Office Memorandum is applicable to those re-employments/ appointments of Federal Government pensioners which are either made or extended on or after 22 April 2025.
As per the Notification of Finance Division issued on 22-04-2025, the FD notified about the Pay and Pension Commission, if a Federal Government employee gets a new Government job after retirement at 60 years, the employee will get only one pension or pay. The employee cannot claim both pay and pension at the same time. It is on the choice of the employee whatever he selects.

The Finance Division is yet to clarify whether, if the employee retires at 59/58/57, and so on, years of age instead of 60 years, what will be the status of his pension and salary. Several employees get retirement or LPR before the age of 60 years, i e the date of superannuation. I hope the Finance Division will soon issue the Notification for the same.
