I am sharing the rules for Quarantine leave for A Civil Servant. A Quarantine leave is granted to the Government employee when the medical attendant authorizes the employee to be in Quarantine. This type of leave is an extra casual leave, and this leave is not deducted from the leave credit of the employees. The details are as follows:
Rules of Quarantine Leave for A Civil Servant
As per the ESTA CODE, the rules for the quarantine leave are as follows:
(1) Quarantine leave counts as extra casual leave, and the office normally does not employ a substitute during a civil employee’s absence on such leave:
Provided that, when the exigencies of service compel it, the head of the office may employ a substitute and record the reasons in writing.
(2) The authority may grant a civil servant quarantine leave outside his leave account to the extent his authorized medical attendant recommends, and it treats the period of such leave as duty with full pay and allowances of the post he holds at the time of proceeding on leave.

Conclusion
It is clear from the above extracts of ESTA CODE that this type of leave will be considered as duty. The employee will also get all pay and allowances. In the same way, the department will not deduct leaves from his leave credit.
It is worth mentioning here that the Punjab Government has also issued the Notification of Amendment in Leave Rules 1981 for LPR Refusing Authority for the Government employees of Punjab.
