National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) issued the latest notification on 21 February, 2026 in connection with the requirement of court orders for change or correction of the Date of Birth in official registration documents.

As per the Notification

 Requirement of Court Orders for Change / Correction of Date of Birth Change Cases

1. It is informed that, as per the by-laws of Local Government Punjab, any change or correction in the Date of Birth recorded in Birth Certificates can only be carried out by Union Councils, Cantonment Boards, and Municipal Corporations upon provision of Court Orders.

2. In this regard, the Competent Authority has directed that all cases where applicants apply for change or correction of Date of Birth in registration documents (CNIC, NICOP, CRC, Juvenile Card) shall be processed upon submission of court orders/directions duly issued to the concerned Union Councils, Cantonment Boards or Municipal Corporations in addition to the verified Computerized Birth Registration Certificate (CBRC). Additionally, verification of court orders shall also be carried out through the procedure already in vogue.

3. It is clarified that the requirement of court orders should not be taken as a requirement imposed by NADRA. This requirement exists under the by-laws of Local Government Punjab for change or correction of Date of Birth in birth registration records.
