Registration for Law Graduate Assessment Test Law-GAT 2023

The Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan orders the Pakistan Bar Council and Higher Education Commission you conduct the GAT test for law graduates. Pakistan Bar Council is responsible to conduct this test through the HEC of Pakistan. all those candidates who want to seek enrollment or registration as an advocate with Bar Pakistan bar council can apply.

Online Registration Opens for Law Graduate Assessment Test Law-GAT 2023

The main objective of conducting this test is to ensure the proper scrutiny and evaluation of law graduates. These graduates wish to join the legal profession. Only competent individual who possesses basic knowledge of the law and is passionate about this profession can be entered in this field to practice law. After passing this test the Law Graduates becomes eligible to apply to be a part of Bar Council for the post of advocate.

Pakistan Bar Council organizes this test on the order of the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan with section (2-CC) of legal practitioners and Bar Councils Act 1973 and rules of PBC.

Eligibility Criteria

All those Pakistani nationals who have a bachelor’s degree in Law or an equivalent degree from HEC recognized institution can apply.

Type of Test

according to the Pakistan bar council, the test is composed of multiple-choice questions. There are no theoretical questions. It is composed of only MCQS related to the Pakistani law / Pakistani constitution and its sections or subsections. The whole curriculum or syllabus for the law -GAT is available on the HEC website.

13^th August 2023	Candidates can select their centers for appearing in the test. The list of job centers is available in the application. After the selection of 1 center, the candidate cannot choose another one.

Procedure of Registration

For registration, applicants can visit HEC official website.
Candidates can submit their applications in 2 steps. They can complete their profile after using the My Profile section. After this, they can use another button Application Submission using Law Graduate Assessment Test Link on the menu panel at the left-hand sidebar of the online portal.

Fee Structure

In order to appear in Law-GAT candidates must pay Rs. 3000 as Test Fee. Candidates can pay this fee through Mobile Banking/Jaz Cash and U -Pesa services. The test fee is non-refundable or non-transferable.

Terms and Condition

Candidates must score 50% in order to pass the Law Graduation Assessment Test.
Candidates have five chances maximum in order to clear this test. Pakistan Bar Council and HEC organize this test on a quarterly basis.
Candidates can resolve their queries before the deadline.
In-completely filled and late applications are not acceptable.
