Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Housing and Works has issued an Office Memorandum on 18-11-2021 in connection with Condition of Rental Assessment for Revision of Rental Ceiling 2021. The detail of the same is as under for the information of the employees.
Condition of Rental Assessment for Revision of Rental Ceiling 2021
The undersigned is directed to refer to Ministry of Law and Justice, Islamabad O.M. No1.12 (495)/2021-Coord, dated 03.11.2021 on the subject cited above and to say that:-
- In case of self-hiring and continued hiring where the house is of the entitlement of an FGS the increase in the rental ceiling is fully applicable irrespective of the fact that the rental assessment was less than the revised rental ceiling.
- In the case of fresh hiring, the department has to ensure that the rental ceiling is not paid above the assessed rent.
Explanation of the Notification
The explanation of the same we can say that before the enhancement of Rental Ceiling for Hiring Rates 2021, the employees had already submitted the assessment form. In this assessment form, the assessed rates of rent were less. After the increase, there were chances that the employees had to submit the revised assessment form. But now after the issuance of this letter, the employees do not need to submit the revised assessment form.
In other words, we can say that if in the assessment rent form we wrote 25,000/- as assessed rent but the Government increased the hiring for the same scale to 30,000/- pm. In this situation, the accounts office would not pay more than 25,000/- pm. The employee had to revise the form. But now there is no need to submit the revised one. The accounts office will now pay Rs. 30,000/- without newly revised assessment form.
