Govt of Pakistan, Ministry of Finance issued a notification on 14-09-2026 in connection with the Grant M.Phil Allowance to MS Degree Holders and Equivalent Federal. The details are as follows:
Grant M.Phil Allowance to MS Degree Holders and Equivalent Federal
Grant of M Phil Allowance Rs. 2,500/- Per month to those who Accquire/possess A Degree Recognized by the Higher Education Commission
As per the Notification, the undersigned is directed to refer to Finance Division’s O.M.No.F.3(6)Imp/2024, dated 24-11-2025, and to state that the benefit of M. Phil Allowance admissible under Finance Division’s O.M.No.F.3(6)Imp/2016-336, dated 01-07-2016 @ 25% of the existing amount of Ph.D. Allowance (i.e., Rs.2,500/- per month) as per prescribed conditions may also be extended to those who acquire/possess an equivalent degree recognized by the Higher Education Commission (H.E.C.) with effect from 17-07-2026, upon provision of an equivalence certificate.
whether other province will implement this notification as in KPK no MS allowance has been awarded and number of cases were filed in court which got finality in Supreme court of Pakistan in favour of Government.
They should all should follow and they not then this is an example of SC decision.
Kindly let me know whether the ME/MS Engineering degree is equivalent to the M.Phil degree for grant of allowance of Rs. 2500/-. any notification, please share.
