Government of the Punjab, School Education Department has issued a Notification on 07-03-2022 in connection with Safety measures for School Children at the Time of Opening & Closing of Schools to reduce traffic accidents.
Safety Measures for School Children at Opening/Closing of Schools
According to the Notification, I am directed to inform you that the competent Authority has directed that every school (Public / Private) shall devise a plan to ensure safe road crossing of school children during school opening & closing time, keeping in view the traffic load on the roads so as to avoid traffic accidents. Moreover, the head of each school will depute a teacher for safe road crossing of students outside the school premises during opening & closing time. Furthermore, a duty roster shall be made in this regard by all schools and school management shall ensure compliance with the duty roster.
I am further directed to request you to disseminate the directions at all levels and also ensure the implementation of above said directions in true letter and spirit.
