Government of Pakistan, Revenue Division Federal Board of Revenue Inland Revenue issued a Notification on 30-09-2023 in connection with the Extension Date for Filing Income Tax Returns 2023. According to the Notification FBR has extended the date to 31st October 2023 to fill and submit the income tax returns.

Government of Pakistan Revenue Division Federal Board of Revenue Inland Revenue Extend the date of filing of income tax returns for the tax year 2023. The department made this decision in order to assist the taxpayers and relax them in filing income tax returns. Now taxpayers can submit files from 30th September 2023 to 31st October 2023.
Revised Dates for Tax Returns
Federal Board of Revenue is pleased to communicate that the date of filing of the income tax return for the tax year 2023 is extended to one month. According to the last notification, the last date for filling up income tax returns was 30 September 2023. But now after an extension in the due date, the taxpayers can pay their income tax returns for the tax year 2023 up to 31st October.
The government of Pakistan made this decision after the current flood situation in the country. So, all the text bar associations and trade bodies request the government of Pakistan to extend the final date of filing of income tax returns. Therefore, the Secretary of IR Operations Revision Revenue Division Federal Board of Revenue circulates a notification on 30th September 2023 regarding an extension in date. The extension in the date of filing helps the department to get more files from taxpayers.
All the tax filers should now submit the tex returns within dates. After that there are not chances that FBR will extend the dates.
