The Ministry of Railways has orders for No Deduction of 5% from BPS-06 and BPS-07 Time Scale Employees. The employees of BPS-01 to BPS-05 who got a higher time scale will not have to deduct the 5% charges. The details are as follows:

No Deduction of 5% from BPS-06 and BPS-07 Time Scale Employees

As per the news, the Ministry of Railways will not deduct the 5% deduction for the employees of BPS-01 to BPS-05 who got time scale promotion to higher scales. The Ministry has issued the Notification in this regard. All these employees had received a time of BPS_06 or BPS-07 as per the Time Scale Promotion Policy 2023.

What is a 5% Deduction?

The employees living in Government accommodation will have to make a 5% deduction. This 5% deduction is per month. But as per the rules, the employees of BPS-01 to BPS-05 are exempt from this deduction. However, the employees of BPS-06 and above (regular scale) are making their deductions from their salaries due to living in Government accommodation.

Notification Not Deduction 5%

The Ministry of Housing and Works has already issued a Notification on 9th November 2027 in connection with No Deduction of 5% up to BPS-05 Employees if they are living in the government accommodation.

It is clear from the above discussion that if the employees have a time scale of a higher grade, then they will have to make deductions as per the actual basic pay scale.
