Notification of Hard Area Allowance & 25% Special Pay to the Federal Govt Employees of Gilgit Baltistan

Finance Division Regulation Wing Islamabad has issued Notification No. F.11 (2) /Reg-1/2005-(R-5) dated 4th April 2013 regarding the Hard Area Allowance & 25% Special Pay to the Federal Government Employees of the Province of Gilgit Baltistan. The detail of the said allowances is as under:

Special Pay @ 25% of the initial basis pay as it was admissible on 31-05-1994, from 01-06-1994 to 01-04-2007 and then on running basic pay wef 02-04-2007.

Hard Area Allowance @50% of running basic pay wef 01-07-2005.

The Special Pay @ 25% and Hard Area Allowance @ 25% will then be freezed at the level of their admissibility as on 30-06-2011.

  1. Is this allowance admissible to FGEI Employees posted in educational institutions in Murree? If yes then how much to a newly appointed BPS-14? Please if the basic is Rs.15810/-

    Hope you would be fine and best of your spirits in health. Really it is a good news for our Gilgit brothers but looks an anomaly to all other federal government employees as it would create difference of salaries a lot further. At one side government is trying to remove difference between the salaries of different govt deptts like Courts, Army, Police, Accounts etc and on the other side they are further creating anomalies by giving incentives to just one station or cadre, this is not justified and understood at all. If the increase is to be given it should be same for all the federal/provincial employees so that this unjust gap between different deptts pay may be removed.

    Hope you would agree and try to share your kind thoughts on this issue.
