Resolution to Pay Scale Revise & Pay Increase Punjab

Ch Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar has put a resolution to Pay Scale Revise & Pay Increase Punjab. According to the resolution, the employees of the province are facing difficulties due to dearness in the country. The government did not revise the pay scale of the Government employees since 2017. In the same way, there is no satisfactory increase in their salaries.

The provincial assembly recommends that the Govt should now increase the salaries of the employees keeping in view the ratio of the dearness. In the same way, there is a demand to revise the pay scales for employees. The employee’s basic pay scale was revised in 2017. It is 2021-22 that no revision in basic pay scales occurred.

 

Reason to Enhance Pay of Govt Employees

 

Chaudhry Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar is the provincial MPA of PP-185. He has represented the most affected TABQA of the province and that is the employees. He knows it well that everyone has adjusted himself in this period of Dearness. Only the employees are the part of the population who cannot adjust themselves. The reason for the same is that their salaries are fixed. When the prices of items increase everyone increases the rates of their items and service changes. The employees just wait to increase their salaries during the budget. Employees of the province were just granted a 10% Adhoc Relief Allowance 2021 on the running basic pay. The government of Punjab also granted a 25% Special allowance but on the initial basic pay.

Main Demands of the Employees

 

There are many genuine demands of the employees that Government must do to minimize the difficulties of the employees. Let’s see some of the main demands:

 

Revision of Pay Scales

 

The government of Pakistan revised last time the Basic pay Scales 2017. After that, no Government did so. If we look at the allowances list there are many allowances that still remain as separate allowances. The list of these allowances is as under:

 

  1. 10% Adhoc Relief Allowance 2016
  2. 10% Adhoc Relief Allowance 2017
  3. 10% Adhoc Relief Allowance 2018
  4. 5% /10% Adhoc Relief Allowance 2019
  5. 10% Adhoc Relief Allowance 2021
  6. 25% Special/Disparity Reduction Allowance 2021

 

Government should now merge all these allowances and issue the Revised Pay Scales 2022.

 

House Rent Allowance

 

According to my view, the 2nd most priority demand of the employees is House Rent Allowance. The employees are getting HRA on the initial of Basic Pay Scales 2008 plus a 50% increase in 2017. If we look at the rates the employees are getting HRA only about 2000 PM to 8000 PM normally. Especially the employees of BPS-01 to BPS-17 are getting HRA nearly 2000 to 6500/-. In this amount, it is not possible to hire even a cheap house in any city. Recently Federal Government increased Rental Ceiling Hiring but Government did not care about the employee who was getting House Rent Allowance.

 

Upgradation of Employees

 

The up-gradation of the employees is also one of the main demands of the employees. Many employees are struggling for their right to have equal pay scales all over Pakistan. They want uniform pay scales all over Pakistan.
