Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, Gilgit-Baltistan Civil Secretariat Department of Services & General Administration as issued Notification on 04-04-2020 in connection with Advance Summer Vacation 2020 GB Educational Institutions.
No.SO(G)1-(66)/2019. In continuation of this department notification of even number dated 13th March 2020, the Government of GB is pleased to further extend the closure of all schools and college (both Public & Private), Universities and their Sub Campuses and Madaris, Coaching and Tuition Centers across Gilgit-Baltistan with effect from 1st April 2020 to 31st May 2020. Moreover, the Elementary Board Exams scheduled in various districts of GB are hereby postponed till 31st May 2020. The Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Educations, Islamabad may also schedule the SSC exams in Gilgit-Baltistan Accordingly. This extension in closure of Educational Institutions they will treat as Summer Vacations.
The above decisions they have taken as a preventive and precautionary measure for COVID-19 on the advice of Health and population Department Gilgit-Baltistan in the best public interest.

The elementary board exams and Federal Board Exams 2020, they have also postponed. GB Government is not the 1st Government to announce this. Before the Punjab Government, Federal Government, Sindh Government, Balochistan, and KPK Government have taken this step. These Governments have also postponed their concerned Board Exams too. These Governments have also started to teach their students online. One of the examples is Taleem Ghar Punjab Govt Online Teaching Program to facilitate the students during these holidays.
