Notification Premium Contribution from All Govt Employees for Sehat Sahulat Program /UHI (Punjab)

 

Government of the Punjab, Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department issued a Notification on 02-10-2023 in connection with Premium Contribution from All Govt Employees for the Sehat Sahulat Program /UHI (Punjab). The government of Punjab Specialized Health Care and Medical Education Department proposed some interventions. These interventions are for the long-term Financial sustainability of the Sahulat Program or Health Insurance Program. The details are as under:

Premium Contribution from All Govt Employees for Sehat Sahulat Program /UHI (Punjab)

 

The provincial Cabinet makes decisions about collecting contributions from all government employees in Punjab. A copy of this notification is forwarded to all competent or relevant authorities.

 

Rates of New Deductions of Family-Based Premium from  Punjab Government Employees

The earlier letter regarding this decision is issued on 22-06-2023. The Cabinet Decides it in a meeting of the Provincial Cabinet on 21-06-2023.

In the light of the new notification on 2nd October 2023. The Planning Officer directed to share this notification with the Secretary of Finance Government of Punjab. The government of Pakistan approves the premium Contributions from all government employees of the Punjab. Previously there was also news regarding health insurance for BPS-01 to BPS-22 Employees and now these are the latest updates.

 

Conditions for Deductions

 

  1. If two members of the family are government servants. Then only one member will deduct the contribution for family-based Premium. The deduction could be annually or monthly.

 

Initiation of Mechanism for Deduction of Family-Based Insurance

 

According to the notification, the finance department must develop a specific mechanism for deduction. This mechanism must have special steps for the deduction of family-based premiums.

  1. The mechanism is required for deducting Rs.362.5 Per Family Per Month.
  2. The finance department will take steps to deduct Rs.4250 per Family on an annual basis.

 

Who Falls Under Deduction Of Family Based Premium

 

All employees working under the supervision of the Government of Punjab fall under the interventions. And they are Permanent residents of Punjab Province. Deduction would be made from only one member of each family. The cabinet decided to not burden the employees and cut off Small amounts from their salaries on a monthly and annual basis.
